this blog is really random I know, but I just want to keep track of things that interest me all in one place. I really like the idea of using recycled materials to build a house. I saw these icestone countertops on apartment therapy - san francisco. they are made of recycled glass and concrete and come in tons of colors.
I read about celio braga on cally creates. all of his artwork is extremely amazing and uses really interesting materials, but I tried to limit myself to just posting on a few of his things that use glass seed beads. it's really interesting to see something so crafty like seed beads used in art in this way.
I collect california-made bauer pottery in red, orange, yellow, purple, and red. it's a reproduction of vintage bauer but uses lead-free glazes. the white and dove grey are really beautiful too, but I never see them in stores for some reason. it looks like they discontinued red, which makes me really sad!
I just redid this room with the help of my very handy boyfriend, and I love it soooo much. I bought a long white table from ikea and made a u-shaped desk using my antique cabinet and desk. I love my antique desk because I can close it up to make space or keep it open for more work surface. It will be great to work on art projects with all the good light from that front window too! Check out my flickr gallery for more pictures of my house.
