I'm really excited about this new dress I bought from twenty8twelve. It has so many cute details...I hope it fits!

counter stools

We are going to need counter stools for our island in the new kitchen. We really want to get some with back rests so they are more comfy, and I think it will be really hard to get something like this off of craigslist. I really like these ones from blu dot. The shape is pretty and I love the wood, and, best of all, they are significantly cheaper than other similar modern stools.



Rich likes these stools from room & board for the island, and they are about the same price as the blu dot stools. I think I like the blu dot ones more though!

I'm still trying to choose pendant lighting for over the island. It's going to really be the center of the whole house, so I want to get something special. I love the mini pendants that kathleen hills makes. I can't decide which I like better: these star lights or the simple pendants below.







If I were to get the simple pendants, I would get three of the largest one furthest to the right.

this sculpture was shown with the crocheted coral reef. helle jorgensen crocheted it from yarn made of plastic bags. I wonder what it would be like to crochet curtains from plastic bags like this.

blogging with a purpose

mallinkowa nominated me for the blogging with a purpose award! :)



My purpose for this blog has to been to create a scrapbook of inspirational things for myself and for my friends. I have created several volumes of books filled with inspirational pictures I cut out of magazines, which I love to flip through whenever I need ideas. I was missing out on all the interesting things I found on the web, so I made this digital version of one of my scrapbooks. I'm happy that my blog is inspiring others too! I'm hoping to start to show more pictures of my own artwork and my new house here in the future in addition to the cool things I find on the web.

This blog also has really helped me have an outlet for my creativity even when I'm extremely busy with my job (software engineer) and with the really hectic lifestyle in silicon valley. A lot of the time, I just don't have enough time to make any artwork.

I think most of the blogs I really like have already been nominated for this award, so I'll just give a list of the blogs that inspire me most.
