oakland treehouse

A sneak peak from design*sponge. I LOVE this color combination of dark blue, yellow/green, bright white, and natural wood! We are painting the exterior of our house a similar blue. It's almost done, and I can't wait to upload photos.

new linen dress

I just bought this dress from vain and vapid on etsy. I hope it fits...it is unbelievably cute.

bradshaw table

I am pretty sure we are going to get a round dining table for the new house. I've been looking really hard for a used table on craigslist, but I can't find a good one. I like this one from room & board. It's based on carrie's coffee table from sex and the city.

saarinen tables

sfgirlbybay
posted some beautiful photos of saarinen dining tables. the black table with the black eames chairs looks really amazing.

led string lights

this is beautiful...I want my patio to look like this!

michelle stitzlein moths

michelle stitzlein makes these enormous moths from discarded materials like license plates, etc. they are huge! I saw them on craft magazine's blog.

virginia fleck mandalas

very inspirational mandalas made from plastic bags by virginia fleck. I've always loved to make mandalas...here are some of mine:

lily desk lamp

I just saw this desk lamp from urban outfitters on {frolic!}. it is so so cute.

vitra algue

I love how you can take all these vitra algue pieces and make such interesting textures. It would be cool to decorate a wall like this!

thomas paul rugs on design public.

down mexico way

a gorgeous house in mexico I saw on apartment therapy from interior design. I adore the yellow tile on the island, and all the texture from the bricks and stone is wonderful.

bleu nature

these mirrors and frames from bleu nature are beautiful. I wonder if I could make something like this myself? I especially like the pebble picture frame.

house update

the kitchen is finally finished enough to use! there is still some more work to do, lighting in particular. the white makes the kitchen feel really big, and the layout of the kitchen turned out well.

the shower turned out beautiful! there is still some more work to be done in the bathroom too.

more pictures on my flickr gallery.

tugboat printshop

woodcuts from tugboat printshop on little paper planes.

urban outfitters rugs

urban outfitters has some really cute rugs, and they are reasonably priced too.

turquoise and white farmhouse

a picture I saw on apartment therapy...the colors are lovely.

reese inman

reese inman is an artist who writes computer algorithms to generate patterns of dots. then she transfers the patterns to canvas and paints them by hand. this kind of crossover between computer generated art and traditional painting really really interests me. it's something I would really like to explore myself.

mixing real with fakes

I saw this post on apartment therapy where someone mixed real wishbone chairs with fake ones, an idea I really like. this room is beautiful too, I love the green staircase with the wooden floors.

printing by hand

this is a picture of a hand printed dresser from lena corwin's new book, printing by hand. it is so so cute.

I also really like this idea of stenciling the walls...it's much easier to paint over than wallpaper. I almost want to do this in our hallway in the new house.

current/elliott jeans

the fall collection from current/elliott. I love the photos and the jeans.

vintage dansk cookware

I saw some of these red dansk pots at an antique market this weekend. they are so cute, but I didn't end up buying them. I LOVE the handles on them, but I think I kinda like le creuset more because they are made of cast iron.
