we just got our new rug from cb2 today for the bedroom! it looks soooo good! I also moved this beautiful antique desk into our bedroom. why didn't I think of it before?! it looks great there, and the desk was just sitting in the garage!
I haven't rearranged any of the artwork yet, but I am very excited to add more art and pretty things to this room! all of a sudden it is so much more homey and inviting!
you can also see in the bathroom we hung up a little teak shelf. we also have a teak bathmat to match outside our shower. it all looks really fantastic, and I need to get some nice pictures of it soon. I was really not happy with either of these rooms before, and they are really starting to look good now.
I just ordered this 8x10 wool rug from cb2 on sale. I've been admiring it for some time and now the price was just too good to resist. I think it is going to look fantastic with the grey walls and walnut furniture in our bedroom! I'm glad I waited on buying a rug for this room. this worked out perfectly!
of course, I'll take a bunch of pictures when it arrives. I'm so excited!
I have been spending so much time gardening recently. I should be painting and doing work! I got a bunch of new pots from a friend, and I couldn't resist getting a few more different succulents for them. she also gave me the black calla lilies, which are so amazing! I spent so much time yesterday rearranging all the pots, and I keep just going outside to stare at them. :)
we have been doing lots and lots of yard work recently. the yard is really getting a lot better and starting to look somewhat decent.
I love the little succulent arrangement on our table. it's so cute!
our vegetable garden is doing so well! the zucchini plants are huge!
we spent saturday ripping out the rotten wood around this flower bed and hauling all the rocks that used to be in the front to make a new border. it looks so much better now!
but there is still so much work to do! the front and other side of the house still need a lot of help. we'll probably be tackling those areas soon.
I really was excited to take some photos today, but it was so overcast! ah well...here they are anyways. I'll retake these on a sunnier day sometime.
I think we are going to get a bigger couch for the living room, and I still need to make a big piece of art for over the mantle.
the right side of the house:
ugly awkward area -> perfect spot for surfboard racks:
thorny bushes -> outdoor shower:
nothingness -> vegetable garden:
random mound and rocks -> still lots of work to do:
some before/after pictures of our yard...lots of work done, but lots of work left to do!
rich bought me this big pot and the large succulent in the middle for my birthday! I got some little succulents to go around it...I love this arrangement! the tall organge one in the back is "sticks on fire"...it is sooo amazing!
a new little succulent from roye.
I got new little plant stands and benches of ikea so all my succulents weren't on the ground. I'm starting to really love my patio!
