new round paintings

I'm working on a few larger paintings, but I needed a break and made a couple of these little round paintings. I have more round frames, so I think I'll keep making more of these.

I have a big art project planned for this fall. I am working on my portfolio for school applications, and I'd also like to have enough art to do a show. I'm keeping track of my artwork in a lot more detail on this blog.

I think the red would look beautiful with the pale grey walls! we are also planning to finally order a better mattress (that will be a lot less thick than our current mattress), so the bed will be lower and line up with my nightstands nicely. I'm extremely excited about that!

bantam sofa

we've been planning to get a new sofa for a really long time. this 73" bantam sofa is too small for the new living room, and rich has always complained that it was too small in general. we finally made the decision to order the 86" bantam sofa in the same color. we were thinking about different sofas (like this one), but the bantam was the cheapest and already matches everything we have. dwr has really raised the prices on these...my sofa was a lot cheaper back when I bought it 3 years ago. I think it's going to look fantastic and fill the space better. I only hope that the rug isn't going to seem too small now...it's hard when you move into a much larger space and everything you own is so small!
